Just at 18z yesterday, they had 3-5" along 95, while the euro had .5-1.5". Euro still has a better resolution and performed a bit better with this one. We know these are notoriously tricky and tough ones to do well in even during peak climo periods. yea, though even the short-range high res models called for more. i'm not even sure a single flake fell in frederick and some of those models were calling for a couple of inches, though this is also why it's futile to just look at snow maps. i had some doubts yesterday when i looked at the surface obs and saw the wind shift was still out in the midwest...the cold air just got delayed in an anti-cad kind of way. midatlanticweather
I can use the warmth to move the last bit of snow from a few places before it glaciates this afternoon/tonight! I can also shovel a couple puddles! What an event! It was craptastic!
DDweatherman
Doing some work, but I think QPF performed well on this. Radarscope total estimates show 1", which might be overdone. But if some can verify for us, would be interested to know.

RIC_WX
Lake Erie appears to be open for business across Western PA and Garrett County this morning. I don’t believe this was modeled.

A combination of both, I think. Chasing precip as cold air moves in, never works well for us. Precip moves out faster, cold air moves in slower. Regardless, I am happy with seeing snow this morning. Ground is white again, will be cold for the next few days. Could be worse!

wolfpackwxDC
FWIW, just drove from Arlington to Woodbridge (IKEA, because again, I hate myself). Flakes mixing in around beltway when I left at 8:45, then all rain from Braddock Rd south. On the way back, no flakes until I-66 (9:45ish), so it does not look like the snow line was really dropping south quickly at all.
osfan24
A tiny bit of snow on the mulch. Will probably be gone in a few minutes as it looks like the snow is tapering off. That's all I've got.

psuhoffman
Snowshoe got another 4”, probably 5 since it snowed pretty foot for another 2 hours after that 6am ob. Plus they avoided any rain per cams it was snowing even yesterday evening. They are cleaning up out there right now. Plus no big base wrecking thaw coming at least until Feb.

RevWarReenactor
I think I saw a couple flakes that melted on contact. Precip ending. I prefer to remember the good times. Like 3 days ago when we where looking at a 1-3 inch appetizer today followed by a possible big storm this weekend. That was awesome.
