Dry slot around Snowshoe.  Definitely some mixing but still crazy wind.  At least 6".  Tomorrow should be interesting as @psuhoffman stated with upslope.  Hopefully several more inches.  Up to 26°

I’ve noticed some freezing drizzle/mist and light sleet when it’s barely precipitating but whenever it comes down with any intensity, even light, it’s still snow. I guess we are far enough west to avoid that warm layer with a little help from upslope.

Anyone else seeing blue flashes every ten minutes or so? Power is flickering here in North Bethesda, but in the flicker off moments, the blue flashing is pretty eerie.

Outage numbers for PEPCO are pretty low so far. Though it could just be a slow refresh of the map.

Something (most likely a limb) is coming in contact with an overhead wire.  This is common especially when tree maintenance is postponed.  It doesn't take much ice to make a limb sag into a wire.

It's almost impossible to measure. And yeah as I learned the other week, the weather here in the mountains doesn't care what the radar says.

This storm is easily on par if not better than the ones I've seen in northern NH and Vermont.

We’ve had the house for five years and this is a top three storm for sure so far. The rates, wind, and cold are unreal.

Flake size has decreased down to SN- right now.

I let my dog out, she pee’d right by the door on the concrete and came back in lol. I guess the heated blanket spoils her

That storm is a literal FIREHOSE! No wonder poor Dale City is 34 and rising. Things are definitely NOT all right in the world for me tonight, as all that rain pours down there.

I just took an hour long Jebwalk in pelting sleet. It was amazing. Neighborhood kids out going crazy. My wife worried I was going to freeze to death and die. Incredible experience. I will never bitch about sleet again. My 4+ snowpack took a beating. But it is going to freeze into a 3 inch thick sheet of ice over the next couple of days. Oh and check this out. This thing is ridiculous. Straight up monster cyclone over land:
