eyewall
It looks like sleet saved a lot of people from a major ice event in the Piedmont.

Hopefully we miss out on most of the ZR? Yeah, probably just a light glaze once we get into the dry slot

I'd say we probably probably picked up another 1/2" if not more since it changed back.

However, super windy all night so measure could be skewed. I have1’+ drifts all around .

WinstonSalemArlington
Roger Smith: 997 mb low appears to be offshore near NC-SC border, track from pressure falls and upper level winds most likely to run inland between ORF and RIC then up the west side of Ches Bay between DC and BAL by 03z (possibly right over DCA). norcarolinian
Just got in from a short drive/walk to my folks... freezing drizzle now with a few sleet pellets mixed in. kvegas-wx
Daughter just showed me some decent snow at Lake Norman again. But my sleet rates here in Kernersville are just ridiculous. I might as well be in thundersleet it is coming down so hard.

That's why I haven't bothered measuring, with the sleet and wind it's nearly impossible, but that 5.5 is a good estimate.

Yes it is hard to measure with all the sleet on top combined with the wind.

Jmoon
Looks like we might add to our totals if the back edge holds together later this evening. Might add another inch or two if a heavier band sets up later this evening. Great event for our area and long overdue.

a5ehren
Sitting at 33 here in north Atl. Snow accumulates whenever rates are high, then melts when it slows. No road troubles and power is still on.
