Blizzard of 93
For what it’s worth, there was a very notable uptick in the 15 day snow totals for CTP and the LSV on the Euro ensemble, Canadian ensemble & the GEFS today. Most of the snow increase was in week 2 as we start the New Year. Hopefully this trend continues over the next few days.

CoralRed
I found hope on this Christmas Day. I went to weather.com hoping their 14 day forecast would show some changes and it does for Williamsport. We will leave our daytime highs in the 40s behind starting the Monday after New Year's until at least Saturday, Jan. 8, the highs will be in the low-mid 30s and the nights in the 20s. We will have opportunity for snow that lasts past the morning. Will we finally get snow worth talking about? We shall see. In any case, I hope everybody had a great Christmas. A very quiet day here.
Festus
Local TV Mets were pretty bullish on a mix event tomorrow. Maybe our first WWA of the season is possible down this way.

Bubbler86
Jan 2/3 still in play. This is the real threat upcoming, IMO. SER is relaxed enough to allow something to come just to PA's west (dump to ending in rain) or even possibly under us.
Blizzard of 93
Here is another look at the 6z GFS for January 2nd & 3rd. it has a solid front end thump of snow followed by a period of mixed precip.

Blizzard of 93
I like seeing the High anchored over Quebec to feed cold air into the system. Our first major widespread event of the year could only be a week away.

The Euro train is not currently on board, but the Canadian has it. Bubbler86
Boy, those late 300hr 500MB Anomaly maps, on the GFS, are quite unique....the 2M temps go along with it. Still disappointing we cannot see anything sustained cold wise in the LR.
Blizzard of 93
All of the 3 major ensembles still have increasing snow amounts from next weekend to the end their 15-16 day total runs. Just as an trend indicator, the snow arrow is pointing in the right direction the last 2 days of ensemble runs.

The last few GFS runs have brought the Arctic blast in some form or another (it’s very noticeable, though not particularly long-lived, on the 6z). I don’t think the ensembles look notably cold but it’s still a long way off.
