I had spots in the driveway that were over 5 even with the melting. I had some raised spots up to 7" but apparently that is too generous to count those. paweather5
5.5 looks to be over. Not a bad little event to cap a crappy winter. Season total 18 inches.
canderson
A 20-30 car pileup on 581 between 11/15 and 83. Yikes.
Blizzard of 93
I’m getting worried about the MDT measurement. They reported .5 mile visibility at 1pm & 2pm but recorded no precip in the last hour…. Let’s just call that very unlikely…lol!

Festus
283E is closed at Cloverleaf Rd. Traffic map has a lot of slow-go on the N-S roads where crosswinds must be wreaking havoc. (Edit: Canderson wins the 283 closure sweepstakes by a minute.)

Itstrainingtime
Snow has ended here. Temp is 23.4 I have between 1.5 - 2" on the ground. Probably had about 3" total prior to melting and compaction.

TheDreamTraveler
That was a fantastic snowstorm and a great way to end the season in the nick of time. Super impressive given the fact it's the middle of March with this type of sun angle and the fact it was warm and sunny the previous day with some areas 60 degrees or higher. And that it all fell in 7 hours

Some solar (shortwave) radiation will still radiate through clouds, even in overcast. Speaking of solar, despite having temps in the low 20s (down into the high teens at times in snow showers) all afternoon, my driveway has mostly melted off despite having the full accumulation on it early this morning. It gets direct sun plus its a newer blacktop surface so it will still absorb solar despite all that this time of the year. 4.5” is probably going to be my rough total, although I’m going to measure around some. This stuff really blew around.
