They don't really get that much lake effect snow there either. It's usually west and south of them.
beavis1729
As noted upthread, MSP is currently having their 9th snowiest season on record, with a bit more to come I'm sure. Also, there has been 1"+ of snow cover at MSP for 90 consecutive days (12/01/2010 to present), with no huge thaw on the way. Very impressive! Wow, that's crazy. That has to be the first time there hasn't been measurable snowfall there after March 1. I looked at the numbers at YNG, and there's never been a year without measurable snow after March 1. This was the first winter without measurable snow before December 1. It would be funny if it was also the first without snow after March 1, considering it's already set the record for seasonal snow.

Modern records ( back to 1948 ) it happened only one other time and thus see 1980-81. Pre 1948 it happened twice and thus a total of 3 times has the last snowfall happened prior to March 1st. Actually had .04 last March but that was it. More amazing is March 2009 and 2010 is the first time we have had back to back March's with less then a inch. I believe the latest first flakes/inch+ here was Dec 14th 2001.
