Need to be under the cold core of the system to get rid of any shallow warm layers. North of 40 might be in a bad spot now.

Changing precip types, then managed to get inside the dry slot for a long time. There's some snow but most models were showing me with 4 inches or so by now. That may be the case above 2000/2200 feet. I've not driven up there but my cousins at 2500 had 3 inches early this morning. Less than half that here.

KTRI is within a dryslot right now with intermittent sunshine. Subsequently the temp came up a few degrees to 34°. Hoping as the upper low pivots south and southeast, precip will fill and a deformation band will form this evening. That should become all snow. Middle Tennessee is getting pounded right now. Congrats to them.
