ShawnEastTN
In their defense tho...MRX has to rank among one of the worst places to be assigned as a Met...with the 1 million different microclimates they have to deal withRight, but thats partly why I don't understand MRX insists for granular snowfall map forecasts down to .25 inch level. Most other offices do it old school with >1", 1-3, 3-6 and so on. Why they want to forecast .25 inches on a map is completely mind boggling. Give ranges that for one keeps you somewhat safe with your forecast and allows people to prep for higher amounts while also allowing for smaller amounts.Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk

fountainguy97
Hrrr looks pretty good. What is this enhancement along the TN side of the mountains? Especially in Unicoi county. Never seen a precip maxima like that in my county.

Holston_River_Rambler
HRRR is an amazing run for parts of Cumberland county, but no snow for me, lol. Soundings are still doing that thing where the "guess" snow, but the model shows rain over my area and Roane county.

TellicoWx
HRRR would have been higher across Southern valley/plateau, back into NE AL/GA...but had an extended period of sleet.

dwagner88
Good gravy. I would love to be excited about this, but I have zero idea what to expect. I want some snow, but not so much that we lose power. Signal and Lookout are going to be lights out. No doubt.

TellicoWx
NBM up and running...let's see how it interprets all this data...it waits to ingest the first couple frames of the 18z HRRR to find the different model bias. Probably what MRX is waiting on.
bearman
There are going to be crazy cutoffs in wild places with heavy and light areas. One neighborhoodwill get crushed and the next will accuse his freinds across town of lying about the snowfall totals. 6 minutes ago, Kasper said: I mean we have seen some crazy things with models before but never anything like this! Hurricaneguy
Here in Greeneville I’m preparing for a lot of rain and sleet maybe an inch. Good luck everyone out west….again. fountainguy97
Phew low 20s and that kicker energy bringing the goods. Won't be surprised to see hrrr tick stronger with NW flow post-system. We are still extreme long range for it.
