Hoping on some edge dynamics with the dry slot rotating through after the frontal passage and before/as the upper low gunk rolled in. Took an image from the four major compass directions. Starting off looking to the east. There was some ponding of water in the field right next to the fairgrounds, While I was still on grass, could not stay there long. Was sinking in, had to get my shot and run back to the road and asphalt. Taken with the GND and the 24-70mm at 44mm... Looking north at my favorite morning tree. Taken with the GND and the 24-70mm at 31mm... Looking west and probably over-did the saturation. Taken with the GND and the 24-70mm at 24mm... Looking south. I do not recall retrograding cirrus happening very often. What it looked like when I got out to the firehouse. Taken with the 24-70mm at 41mm... As the Sun sunk beneath the horizon. The oranges. Taken with the 24-70mm at 57mm... This is looking southwest as the wild colors were moving in. Taken with the 24-70mm at 70mm and the GND... Back to looking towards the northwest and max color dynamics. Taken with the 24-70mm at 59mm... Last image of the night and the reds, There was also a faint sun pillar. Taken with the 24-70mm at 33mm... A nice sundog (or parhelia) on the north side of the Sun. Taken with the 24-70mm at 35mm... The red flash happened to the north. Was kind of a stretch it being so far away and I left in all the street lights. Taken with the 24-70mm at 35mm... I was so focused looking north this completely surprised me when I looked back to the southwest. Two red vivid searchlights right in front of me. Taken with the 24-70mm at 70mm... Cheers! I do remember that I was coming down with a head cold so I was not going to go out and shoot the sunset. Of course I caved at the last moment and just ran around a block from the house trying to play avoid the powerlines and buildings. The beginnings were not much but I could tell it was about to take off. Taken with the 24-70mm at 55mm... Here comes the color! Taken with the 24-70mm at 63mm... Tried to get the Courthouse into some of the color. Taken with the 24-70mm at 35mm... About as deep as the red could get. Taken with the 24-70mm at 50mm... Taken with the 24-70mm at 24mm... The horizon turned a nice burnt orange as the Sun sank through it. Taken with the 100mm... Looking south as the orange hit the cirrus up high. The post sunset color tried but was rather lacking. Taken with the 24-70mm at 70mm... As I was walking back to the car there was a brief sot of red flash off in the distance to the southwest. Taken with the 24-70mm at 24mm... Looking northwest when I got to the top of the overpass. Taken with the 16-35mm at 16mm... And even looking to the east. Taken with the 16-35mm at 16mm... The cumulus melted and moved off by the time the post sunset got going. Still looked rather decent. Taken with the 24-70mm at 70mm...
