Nothing on the roads or sidewalks here in Manhattan but most other surfaces have seen at least a coating

Classic mid winter snow event ongoing. Near perfect flakes with minimal wind on uws. Snow globe stuff, now to keep it around for the Arctic blast next week. Maybe even start a pack!

As of 2:00 am, measured 1/4" on the ground (the comment above was eyeballed).  Temp dropped from 31 to 28F over the last 20 minutes with the snow falling and cooling the column. Snow is fairly dry and is a mix of small and medium dendrites (plates mostly).  

Just took a nice Jebwalk - spectacular out thre folks!  As of 3:00 am here in Metuchen we have 1.25" OTG for 1" the past hour and it's snowing somewhere between moderately and heavily with gorgeous mostly large (1/2" to 1" across) fluffy dendrites.  If we can keep this up for aonther 4-5 hours, we'll make my 4.75" prediction.

This band is literally crushing nyc rn,Also the low itself is def west. It's gonna keep us in the heavy to moderate snow for a while. The developing bands are coming right up the jersey coast in to nyc for the next 2 to 3 hours.

Yeah January 2016 was in a tier of it's own I ended up with somewhere between 24-30" in that one but it was nearly impossible to measure with all the drifting

Boy if the death band continues to strattle the bronx and lower westchester County,it's gonna be jp easy. Also this baby is really winding itself up and near the coast which means l.i gets a dryslot. Nyc looks prime for 5+ inches rn..
