1029 PM EST THU JAN 6 2022

.SYNOPSIS...
LOW PRESSURE WILL TRACK ALONG A STALLED COLD FRONT TO OUR SOUTH
TONIGHT, RESULTING IN A PERIOD OF SNOW. CANADIAN HIGH PRESSURE 
WILL BUILD OVERHEAD FRIDAY THROUGH SATURDAY BEFORE MOVING 
OFFSHORE SUNDAY. A COLD FRONT WILL PASS THROUGH SUNDAY NIGHT AND
AND CANADIAN HIGH PRESSURE WILL RETURN FOR EARLY NEXT WEEK.

&&

.NEAR TERM /UNTIL 6 AM FRIDAY MORNING/...
10PM UPDATE... FGEN BANDS OF MODERATE TO OCCASIONALLY HEAVY SNOW
HAVE PERSISTED OVER OUR WESTERN AND NORTHWESTERN ZONES FOR THE
LAST FEW HOURS. THIS HAS RESULTED IN SOME WARNING LEVEL
ACCUMULATIONS ALREADY, AS WELL AS SOME ACCUMULATIONS INCREASING
FAST OUTSIDE OF THE WARNING. HAVE EXPANDED WINTER STORM WARNING
FURTHER EAST IN NORTHERN AREAS OF WV AND WESTERN MD. ELSEWHERE,
FORECAST REMAINS RELATIVELY ON TRACK FOR NOW.

This won’t end well for us.  We had ours on Monday.  I’ve seen this movie and know the plot quite well.  There will be others it’s early Jan.

Has been snowing here since about 9. Grass surfaces have a decent coating. Pavement is just starting to cover. 
 

FCPS put up a 2 hr late start for tomorrow morning. While most major roads I was on today were brined the mountain bus routes I am sure will grant the Miss J’s wish of a snow day tomorrow.

Careful, some of the banding is now going through a zone where the radar beam is interfered with by Bull Run Mtn.

FCPS is already closed. 

(Edit - assuming Fairfax but maybe not what you meant)
