BuCoVaWx
Kind of late posting, started as all snow here in Big Rock around 2. It's slowed down a bit at the moment, but didn't take long to throw a quick inch down.
PowellVolz
Best chance we’ve had all day for accumulation! We talked about that with the last storm. It’s one of the most bizarre things I’ve ever seen and it’s been going on for years. There’s no telling how many Mets MRX has went through but the jinks lives on. .

My dad and I have been joking about that for over 30 years. It truly is amazing. Do you have much up there in Powell? I was on Emory Rd around lunchtime and it was dumping!

Periods of snow showers are expected to continue to impact portions of the central and northern valley of East Tennessee. A dusting to 1 inch of snow is possible over the next couple of hours, north of I-40. With temperatures plummeting in the upper teens to 20s, any wet spots on roads will turn to patches of ice. This will create slippery conditions in some spots, especially on bridges and untreated secondary roads. Use caution if traveling overnight and Friday morning. Slow down and allow extra time to reach your destination, and do not assume that a well traveled roadway will be free of snow or black ice. I was on Emory Rd around lunchtime and it was dumping!Pushing an inch now. Roads are icy with a coating of snow on them. We got so many heavy bursts of snow but too much of a break between them. Had this system been late afternoon, it would look a lot different north of 40. .
Stovepipe
It's 31.5 with a tiny flaked drizzle, or as I like to call it, flizzle. I got in my car and Looks Like Rain by the Grateful Dead was playing on sat radio. Perfect!

Probably next year based on the season so far lol 15-30th looks really good. Not guaranteeing anything, but about as good as it gets. Let's hope we can reel it in.

Save the itchy algae!
Maybe a 1/4” on the ground here at the hospital in Powell on Emory road. A round of rain moved in earlier and wiped out the snow around 3. The snow that’s falling now feels like it isn’t going anywhere.

Jed33
Like everyone else in the eastern valley, I thought it was over as well before it began, but now we have a fairly heavy dusting on cars and grass. Right before this band hit, there was a couple big gusts of wind for me as well! Right on cue MRX with the SWS lol!

Looks like I might squeeze out 5 inches. It's a shame that the valley got warm nosed. Looks like some areas around 40 and north have a shot for some more backside showers. I assume our mid state guys had a good day.

A lot of them scored a 6-8" event and a couple have indicated they received almost 9"... It's been a LONG time since this widespread a snowstorm occurred for the midstate. Happy for them.

John1122
This showed how rare a state wide event really is. This one looked like a slam dunk and still didn't happen. The pattern being discussed in the pattern thread is one that can deliver that. Crazy that a week ago it was 70+ degrees and we hasn't been below freezing in nearly a week. 1234snow
Still all rain on the south side of Kingsport near Cattails. Haven’t seen a flake yet. I did not think a warm nose would be an issue for this event this far north but it was. Congrats to those who got some good stuff!
