John1122
Because of the similar colors, not sure if this is just dumping heavy heavy snow or if it's portraying this as sleet. The sounding under that purple in Campbell County is not a sleet sounding.

John1122
GFS wasn't as kind to the Southern border counties. I think we are locked in for a rare nearly state wide 1+ inch snow fall. I think somewhere in Middle Tennessee will be the jackpot for the state. Kentucky is in great shape for nice totals too. 5

The latest run made a little jump north on that line. And let's hope that convective looking stuff in Alabama depicted on the HRRR doesn't get going.

Hurricaneguy
Good luck everyone in Central TN! It looks like it’s shaping up to be a good one. I feel like we’ll be lucky to see 2” again in the Eastern Valley
John1122
00z GEFS snow depth. This is impressive as it's snow on the ground and an ensemble mean. That's a large area over 2 inches and a pretty big area over 3.
TellicoWx
One thing about the GFS I can say 100% sure...that due east/west snowline across the southern counties isn't happening that way lol. About the oddest looking cutoff line I've ever seen at this close range.
TellicoWx
Once you get this close to an event, the mean starts moving with the OP. Better to look at the individual members to see if it has locked a solution or not...still quite a few different outcomes in the GEFS.

Middle tn scored with Jonas? in 2016, were due for a 6 incher in the valley. Maybe this long term pattern produces
John1122
The RAP held steady for the good areas, ticked up by about an inch in the Loudon to Tri-Cities corridor. 2

Last big snow in Greeneville was 2014. I’m just waiting to get an 8”+ 80s/90s style snow storm again. It’s a shame it’s been decades since we’ve had one that big.

Feb 2014 had a nice one. 8" here but was 40s next day and melted quick. Been waiting for 8 years and counting for one that caliber, though. Sometimes I just want to move to the top of clingman's dome.

TellicoWx
There is going to be a very sharp cutoff it seems along that southern edge...could be where 15 miles or so means the difference between sleet mess and 2"-4"+
