Final measurement, 15.5".  Lost power for 6 hours.  But check out the sun coming through!

Was that your report that NWS Sterling has up on their snowfall map?  Congrats on jackpotting!  My sister lives off Walton Road down there, and my parents are off Rt. 4 about 4 miles south of Dunkirk.  They lost a lot of trees!

Looks like you guys got a really good storm. Amazing cutoff. If you look at the Va traffic cams you can see it. About 3/4” here, 10 miles north nothing, and looks like several inches about 15 miles south.

Can someone give me an amen on my March 2009 call? Pretty good comparison on that cutoff. How about it @clskinsfan, @EastCoast NPZ? Lol

Spot on.

Yes sir. Brutal for sure. At least we got some snow. Some here didn't.

Thanks, Fozz. I am so happy for everyone who got snow today in the greater Mid Atlantic Region. When that happens, all is right in the world.

Only @Jebman, living in TX for (I think?) more than two years now, could be THIS happy about snow in NoVA, his former stomping grounds.

When I took an afternoon "Jebwalk" with my wife and dog this afternoon, and used that exact term to describe our walk, she looked at me sideways.....but dozens of folks in this sub fully appreciate the weight of that word.  :D

Wife and I just got back from a 2mi snowshoe around the area and it's devastation for conifer trees. Almost every single tree is very damaged or blown over.  A guy down the street has/had a row of 12x 30ft+ cypress trees and all except one are completely taken down.  Even white pines were heavily damaged, one of mine basically broke in half.  Loblolly pines lost a ton of branches.  Holly trees are all completely bent or broken.

Tree damage here is much worse than 09-10, hurricane Irene, 2016 blizzard, 2012 derecho or any other storm we've had since at least 2004.

I have been living down here in northern Buda, Texas since Aug 26 2018. I live on Jerrys Ln down here. I have been spoiled ROTTEN by warm weather the past 2 months lol. I am NO warminista though! I want Dale City to get buried ALIVE in deep snow! I want you guys to get shellacked by a million year blizzard! I want you to get hammered HARD by the snow deform from hell with 6 inch an hour rates for days!

Don't forget to pile that snow up on the north side of sunlight blocking objects like houses, cars, whatever and wherever you can find to pile the snow insanely high so that that dastardly sun cant get to all of your precious snow!

I have one last weenie question, I am sorry for all of the IMBY questions, but how much snow did Charles Town get, specifically at the Casino? Thanks. And, enjoy that snow! WOW 12 INCHES in Dale City! Isn't that a HECS? Find an icy area, run fast then SLIDE! Roll around and wallow in all that fresh snow at 3am when you know no one will see you lol! Take long jebwalks and dig, dig, dig lots of snow! There's nothing like "stolen" snow! Sneak a jebwalk right in your neighbor's drift in the middle of the night right where everyone is asleep! You guys are gonna get a LOT more snow this winter! This was only a rehearsal!

I’ve been waiting for years to have a good snowfall close enough to Christmas to see the lights in the snow.  Does not disappoint.

Spectacular lights and great pics!  Know what you mean about waiting for snow to see the lights...   Just came in from take a few pics too.  While we only got 7" here NW of Vienna, the way it stuck to everything is amazing, especially considering the wind we had this morning.  Every piece of wire on our neighbor's fence is white, every branch on the trees, it's just ideal.  Hope everyone was able to get something today and have time to enjoy it.

Thank you for the good vibes today Jebman

You are VERY welcome! I am pulling for a lot MORE great snowstorms for you all there in the Mid Atlantic Region! You are gonna get demolished by heavy snow quite a few times this winter!
