Heavy snow from Lynchburg to Washington DC to Atlantic City. 1 to 2 inches an hour.   Richmond reports a mixture of sleet and snow. All these cities were in the mid 60s yesterday.

And we get rain and mixed crap with "stale" cold air...

The 12z would have the heart of the band metro North towns and east for about 12 hours. Even at 1-2” an hour (which seems low but just going that way for sanity) that would be 1-2’.

Euro, CMC and RGEM phase the energy over roughly western Tennessee. GFS doesn’t.  Will be interesting to see the GEFS as I imagine many members will look Euro-ish.

12z GEFS actually shifted E a decent bit compared to 0z and esp 6z.

Glad I'm in Tennessee for the holidays. Bell Buckle, Tennessee (less than an hour away from Nashville) got 9.5" of snow last night

That's 9" more than we got all weekend.  And puts them within spitting distance of our seasonal snowfall around here.  This winter is rockin'!
