What you see here is likely the western most envelope. Glad I don’t live in Philly or Albany and get excited by this. Nah, those of us that live out here have seen this from the NAM time and time again. I haven't invested much time with this one, but someone in Eastern New England should make out very well.

SouthBuffaloSteve
ARW picked this band up very well… just had the accumulation to far inland. Should be fun to watch as day progresses… It spins the Ontario band up and then tea kettles some fluff along the Lake Erie shoreline later this afternoon as flow turns to WSW.

BGM Blizzard
Outside of the NAM, everything has shifted noticeably E on 12z runs so far due to holding the energy back in the SW. Gonna be some epic melts this afternoon in the NE forum if the Euro and EPS shift as well.

rochesterdave
Funny thing is this: I’ve spent a few days tracking this fantasy storm that I would’ve been tickled pink to get 8” from it. However, while I was tracking, sneaky lake effect has accumulated 8” IMBY. I guess my focus needs to be adjusted. 1

wolfie09
Well this about all we got over the next 7-10 days.. The upstream cold front will pass through the area Thursday night, bringing the next round of snow. There will be initial southwest flow lake response, although it might take a bit to get going but should focus some minor accumulating snow northeast of the lakes later Thursday evening and overnight, especially off Lake Ontario where several inches will be possible, before the flow turns more westerly by Friday morning. Lake snows will gradually wind down during the day Friday even though colder air will continue to progress southward into the region. Air mass drying out significantly with the flow turning northerly as Canadian high pressure builds into the region

Looks like the GFS wants to wind up the storm at the end of next week and wipe out our snow cover with rain and mild temperatures. Then the next wave passes over us and gives us mixed precipitation.
