Upstate/Eastern New York-Pattern Change Vs Tughill Curse?

Yea they got nailed. Meanwhile downsloping just pretty much killed it here. There has to be some sort of recipe to get that band over the tughill. Must need more of a lake enhancement to offset the downsloped dryness

You need strong west wind. Lowville just doesn’t get much snow. Bet Turin gets it.

This system will bring moisture back into the area
Monday afternoon into Monday night, bringing a widespread general
snowfall to the region. Some lake enhancement is likely east of the
lakes, but in general a 2-4 inches snowfall is expected for most
areas with slightly lesser amounts across the Finger Lakes, with
higher amounts east of the lakes could locally approach 6 inches.

Widespread snowfall then tapers to northwest flow lake convective
snow showers later Monday night and continues through Tuesday before
high pressure builds in by Tuesday night.

This is why you guys love the clipper train. Here in the ROC we’re getting the same old downslope game. 1/2” so far. Pittsford to be specific. For us to win these little pieces of energy need to go over PA.

Starting to lose some hope for next weekend. EPS and GEFS are way east. It's probably an I-95 and/or New England storm or nothing.

Can never say never, but the ridge axis isn't ideal for us, just no room to turn this further west unless that ridge backs up a bit. We will have a better shot as we approach february and we get more -pna and gradient but could also get dicey too

You're actually getting snow from this clipper? Sun's out here. lol

Have to wait for the lake to supply...

Not sure if I would say they don't get much. The 30 yr avg is 126". Turin didn't get much with this either per the ski resort came. Looks about the same as here.

That was relative to the other towns in your region. Yes, 120” is a lot of snow- unless the towns to your N,S,W and E get twice that.

Yeah I've been watching that ridge axis out west as well. A positioning near the longitude of Boise, ID is usually ideal for C PA to C NY.

Yea but it also depends on the amplitude. Like in this case it's actually centered there but its a very broad ridge instead of vertically stout. So it cause the s/w to dig further east than ideal

That’s what I noticed. On the runs yesterday the ridge started losing its steepness.
