North and West
Capitalism is flawed, but it is the best system there and has helped the most amount of people out of poverty. The alternative is Russia, China, Cuba... it’s the best system we have for allocating limited resources while incentivizing production.I think the main argument you could have is whether you want capitalism with a strong welfare state or a weak welfare state. Both have their pluses and minuses, and it’s my personal opinion that it’s disingenuous to think otherwise. Everything has shades of grey. Probably a discussion for a different banter thread..

The alternative is Russia, China, Cuba... Russia, China and Cuba are just as bad letting fossil fuel cartels run their entire political systems. It's not about politics actually, it's about letting the rich control everything. The rich need to be devalued so their money means nothing when it comes to power-- in short the influence of money needs to be completely removed from politics, because money corrupts and eventually leads to oligarchy, which the US either is already or is well on the way to becoming according to several studies

So if that’s not in their forecast they out. I'm not sure how many want jackpots, but most people probably want a storm that doesnt change to rain and dumps at least 6 inches area wide..... at least 10 inches area wide would be ideal but beggars cant be choosers

I'm still leaning toward a warmer solution, along the lines of Upton's current map. The NAM, HREF, and even extended HRRR have fared well in sizing up mid-level WAA this season. Since they all introduce mixing into the interior, and given what we know about SWFEs in general, I think expectations should be tempered. The upside is that rates will be good to start out - that's a solid NW-SE fgn signature coinciding with the best upper-air support. Even where changeover is delayed/avoided, though, ratios will get progressively worse as the event wears on, with moisture becoming shallower and riming more prolific. Could be a fun event for many, but nobody in this subforum should be expecting a blockbuster.
