Seeing some 9 to 11” reports out east of the city up the 28 corridor towards New Ken.

The orientation of the heavier reports is less to do with longitude, latitude, and elevation, and likely more to do with rates and banding.

Lots of these reports coming via social media. You think its possible that some of these are being measured in an area where there was drifting rather than actual snowfall numbers?

Maybe - but it can work the other way too where the measurement was where the snow drifted from.

But good point as far as another reason that the numbers are all over the place.

I just measured 7.5, few lower / few higher so I'm going with that. Its heavy compacted so had I measured with a snow board I wouldn't be shocked if it would have been an inch or more than that. I can't say for sure about the reported totals but when I woke up around 4:00-4:30 it was a very heavy snow, easily 1+ per hour.

Well, we are officially over 7", maybe around 8 at this point.

Yeah, the county got 6-8 inches. Ross there was a report of 7 inches and that sounds about right....however we did not hit warning criteria on snow as that is 6 inches in 12 hours.

Hey, maybe one day we can actually get a storm where we don't look 50 miles away and they get significantly more snow.

To be honest with you it all fell at night. I would rather save our big storm for when we can see and enjoy it.

Yeah. At least yesterday I didn't have to really see it sleet as it was dark at that point. I say I got between 6 and 7 inches here.  I'll take it.

Ok....I probably overreacted....maybe just a bit.

Still though, overall pretty disappointing that we got 6 inches in a lot of the county and literally 20-25 miles away in Beaver they got a foot.

I’m sure there are houses for sale in Beaver County, where it snows more than it does here, you just have to look.

Its semantics but it 6 in 12hr or 8 in 24 over 50% of the warned area, based on totals I see coming in that verified. Maybe lower end for immediate Pittsburgh area.

I'd rather not live in Beaver County though.

Me either, just giving you crap. I’d rather not live in a place that averages out to get probably a couple inches a year more than I do and is a significant downgrade on nearly every other level.
