stjbeautifulday
Just drove home from the Pens game. It was 42 when I left the parking garage. And 31 when I pulled in my driveway in Moon. Grass is covered.
Ahoff
Roads just look wet, hopefully they stay that way. Kind of doubt it though.
MikeB_01
Roads just look wet, hopefully they stay that way. Kind of doubt it though. The snow and cold will win out. The roads and other paved surfaces are resisting because of how warm it got today. Couple of hours and they will give in.
north pgh
Turning in so I can get up early. One inch already on the ground with moderate snow falling. Well on our way to 4-6. I’m thinking if these rates can keep up we may exceed 6 inches by mid morning. My temp is down to 30 and driveway and roadway are starting to get covered. I will be up to take the dog out at 7:00 and take a measurement.

TheClimateChanger
KYNG 120451Z 29007KT 3/4SM -SN BR OVC007 M02/M04 A2982 RMK AO2 SLP106 SNINCR 1/2 P0010 T10221039 401111039 RVRNO $ METAR from 11:51 pm at YNG shows 1" in the last hour, with 2" already on the ground there. Judging by radar over the past 45 minutes, I would expect them to report another inch with the upcoming METAR. I think they were only expected to get 2-4 inches. Looks to be heavier than expected. Wonder if the NWS will upgrade to a warning?
meatwad
Looks like it’s gonna be an over performer. Snowing heavy here in Monroeville. The street is covered now. I wonder if we’re gonna get thunderstorms tonight as well?
TheClimateChanger
00z GFS has 8.3 inches. Nowcasting and observation time. Looking at radar tonight, this looks pretty believable.
TheClimateChanger
Looking at the 0z modeling, looks like consensus is 6 or 7 inches for most of SW PA. Think we will end up with low end warning totals. But who knows - if the GFS is right, Waynesburg might be pushing a foot.

KPITSnow
Just saw that as of 230 AM 5 inches at the airport. Going to be a couple places, including me, that push 8 inches. Shocked they didn't up this to a warning. Total overperform, and this basically does save the winter.
KPITSnow
Just went outside, and eyeballed maybe 6 or 7 inches? Great overperform, and amazing the best storm of the year is a march frontal passage.
meatwad
Still snowing decently out. I see pit officially has 7” now. Radar still looks good. Best storm of the season, no ptype issues, no dry slot, very little if any rain. This storm reminds me of the 3/8/95 storm.
