Who likes sky high gas and electric bills?

Keep the heat at 60-62F during the day and 56-58F at night while wearing a flannel, wool slippers and it's not bad at all...maybe throw in a little whiskey and you're all set.

It's the older folks  :oldman: and the majority of females (from my experience, not all)who like the thermostat at 70-75F+ then wonder why the heat bill is a mess. Myself, anything over 65F I start to feel stuffy and uncomfortable...

32F/ roads treated/brine...

Unless those "females" are going through hot flashes. Have to have a fan and heater right next to you to deal with that. :lmao::P

I think my high is probably going to end up being 31 and the dews finally got into the double digits (currently 10).  Otherwise it's sunny and 30.

Honking for what? flooding rains? :P But seriously, despite the big highs in place, it looks like we see the return of the big se ridge. Looks purely gradient driven so will depend if the cold air press can overcome the SE ridge. I see potential but it imo that set up favors rain for 95 with nw seeing frozen. Still time for things to change though.

While I completely agree about being gradient driven, we have gone in 2 days from a complete cutter up thru the Great Lakes to a decent wave tracking thru PA, to now a wave tracking under us. Definitely wouldn't call it flooding rains at this point. Heck if the trend co tines it could be squashed down in VA and NC. Just something to watch for now but seeing those moves over the last couple days one has to wonder if this is going to have some tricks up the sleeve.

anafront conditions bigtime.   Flooding rain  hell no. Mt Holly needs to stop talking  about flooding as the GOM is not open for business.  Snowmelt- what a joke  8 in of snow .50 liquid equivalent in the snow pack. For me 3 in  of snow .20  or less.  That will not lead to flooding.  Ice jams, maybe in upper Delaware and Susquehanna? Thats the only flood threat.  I see the precip changing to freezing rain and sleet and then a few inches of snow on top  after .25 in of rain.  Not a drought buster as the soils remain deeply frozen, especially after the next few nights.

18z gefs took a step back for the late week slop. But hangs a piece of stj energy back and moves that thru late in the weekend. That could work if the first system fails Thurs/Fri with the shorter wavelength now being depicted between systems. 18z gfs was a nice active look from start to finish.

Remember that the Mt. Holly CWA isn't just a tiny area.  It goes from the LV south into southern DE and parts of northern MD and from the Central and S. Jersey coast west through Chester County and above.  There have been some forecasts for the SE ridge to briefly reappear sending temps into the 50s by next Thursday - particularly in some southern parts of the CWA where there is quite a bit of snow along the coastal areas. And as a note, I did a SWE for MBY late this afternoon and got around 8/9:1 - and probably because during much of the event, the temps were holding around 29/30 during the heaviest snowfall. You will have clogged drains for sure leading to street flooding if you get any kind of significant melt and rain on top of that.

The latest PNS includes this (with many counties in the CWA having some serious snowpack) -

Yep, I turn off the heat at night. It plays havoc with my sinuses. Woke up to the thermostat reading 57 degrees

Temp here slowly dropped to 10 after midnight and has stayed steady through the early morning.  Currently, about 10 minutes after sunrise, it is 10 with dp still below 0 at -1.

Same here.  Thought I might see the lowest temp this year with all the snow, but just missed it by 0.3.

Yep, I turn off the heat at night. It plays havoc with my sinuses. Woke up to the thermostat reading 57 degrees

My record inside a house is 46F with the heat completely off and overnight temps in the single digits/low teens. A house insulates itself. Camping is a whole different story...better have a solid sleeping bag.

Damn, that's too close to the pipes possibly freezing for me. Lowest I have let it get was 53 degrees

Am now up to 12 but dp is still below 0.  Have to change out the humidifier filters because they got worn out the past couple weeks (even with flipping and periodically re-soaking).  The forced air heat does a number on the humidity in here.  :axe:

I know, NAM at 84....but also has the trailing wave out in New Mexico much like other guidance that moves it thru next weekend with wintry precip. So looks like warm sector midweek. Then cold front passage with rain Thursday ish. Then we look to the weekend with fresh cold air source in place and disturbances moving thru. The pattern 'relax' looks extremely short-lived.

I dont agree with how the Ukie is combining the 2 waves into one solid frozen event, so color me skeptical. 2 separate waves would work though as I've been alluding to if we sacrifice the Thursday-Friday system and the trailing energy moves thru Saturday-Sunday with smaller bandwidth between the systems.
