Getting a nice, light but steady snowfall here this morning. Solid dusting so far. Ah, winter! :)

Increasing sun angle effects will now start creeping into any and all AFDs!  Spring is right around the corner.  BooYaa! How soon till our first 90 degree day? ;)

Either have to hope for a strong LP with dynamic cooling or a sheared-out one with drizzle on Christmas morning.

I'm hope this pans out to keep the chance of a white Christmas here:

BUF REALLY needs to change the color sizes on that scale - the lower amounts need to be longer and the higher amounts shorter.

Not a bad look. Maybe a white Xmas Eve? image.thumb.png.b2ef476d73755bab4149b1697f941789.png

Just as long as it doesn't move any more north and east, we have a chance. I am noticing the models ever-so-slightly making those adjustments. What I am seeing on the models goes along with what is so common in our region with these waves: Precip. mimima over the Finger Lakes, moisture loss in Finger Lakes shredder, late redevelopment of precip. until it hits I 81 and eastward. Temperatures should be fine for snow though.

GFS still showing a rain to snow system on Saturday/Sunday but not so fast says the NWS lol

Looking into the
details... there remains uncertainty in an area of low pressure
which would impact the region Christmas -Christmas night. The
GFS has been persistent with a deepening area of low pressure
tracking across NYS while other models show a much weaker system
tracking to the south. The GFS isn`t favorable in the overall
zonal pattern across the region Saturday.
