^that's at 12,000 ft and at 61.44 degrees north. what do you expect?

I didn't see the totals from yesterday but they were thinking it might break the Alaska and maybe even US record for 24 hour snowfall.  That is why I posted it.  Possibly 12' of snow by the end of the storm.

Cold, blustery, and snowing right now. Typical "popcorn" snow showers with temps in the mid-30's riding the NW flow. Supposed to make it into the low 40's today, and if it does, would only be for a brief time this afternoon. Looks nice by the weekend with highs around 50.

sorry, worth repeating. This is going to be great for LOT winter AFD's one way or another:

"MOST OF THE AREA WILL TAKE A BREAK FROM FREEZING LOW TEMPERATURES
BEGINNING SUNDAY MORNING AND HIGHS BOTH SUNDAY AND MONDAY WILL CLIMB
INTO THE MIDDLE AND UPPER 50'S WITH NO RAIN EXPECTED TO WRAP UP THE
WEEKEND.  "

Looks like he was a TV met here in the Rockford market. Don’t mean to offend the Mets here but I thought these days TV mets are more likely j-school grads vs actual trained mets.

No, in fact it's been the opposite trend.   Almost all TV mets now have a Met degree of some sort
