With one day left, this november will go in the middle of the pack in my 7 years here.

2018 and 2019 were much cooler, 2020 much warmer.

However, the actual low temperature for the month (currently 27 - maybe beaten tonight) is the highest since 2016.

In 2018 i got down to 13 degrees! I forgot how cold that November was.

They made the decision in the 90s when the office moved to OKX to accept the less accurate readings from Central Park.

But National Weather Service meteorologists say they knew the weather
readings in the park would never be as keenly accurate as the ones at
the airports where guidelines prevent foliage from being within 100 feet
of the station.

and no one wants to clear the foliage?  Central Park is so huge why would it so bad if they cleared all the trees within a 30 feet radius of the equipment?

Get a federal mandate to do it so they can do it over the objections of whomever is in charge of making those decisions locally.  If the federal govt can come in and nab a police union leader for corruption they should be able to get a few trees knocked down.

I thought it pretty strange that our low temps have been hanging out in the low 30s a lot, like it's some barrier we can't cross.  Typically we get into the mid 20s by late November even in the city and local airports.

New York City (Central Park): 40°

Newark: 44°

Philadelphia: 47°

Normals:

New York City: 30-Year: 49.0°; 15-Year: 49.4°

Newark: 30-Year: 49.6°; 15-Year: 50.1°

Philadelphia: 30-Year: 50.6°; 15-Year: 51.1°

The cool weather will continue through tomorrow.

why is it so hard to get any lower than this? to be fair we barely got below freezing here too

LGA probably had a wind from the water which is still well above freezing. The extreme north shore was also struggling to get below freezing here. I think I got down to 23 a few miles south of the sound.

If they have not gotten to freezing yet, they are not a good representation of our area,at all.

It’s representative of all our local stations on the water. The SSTs have been running very warm. Plus the CAA hasn’t been very impressive this month due to the strong Pacific influence.

Stations right on the water bolded

Very true.  I'll often look at the private weather stations on wundermap and the difference between those within a mile or so of the water and those farther inland has been large.  I actually had about a two week longer growing season than places a mile south of here.  FWIW, I think similar happens along the Lake Ontario shore.
