It's a more sparsely populated and wooded area so it cools off faster on nights like these. It's nearer to the north shore and hilly so it gets more snow than southern areas but it's not special compared to other north shore places. The Pine Barrens is the coldest spot on LI on nights like these but it warms right up when winds go onshore. Temp IMBY down to 37. Maybe even locally moderate. Follow NWS for details. 11/13 ish continues to look very good for an event, but whether its our normal decent rain of 1-3" and gusty winds 35-40 knots, or something more than that - inclusive of damaging wind, and/or wintry mix nw fringe?? 00z/4 model guidance is somewhat interesting, For now, no thread from myself means no confidence yet on something more than ordinary. Today: 50-53, wind mostly n., m. sunny. 43*(56%RH) here at 6am. 42* at 7am. 50* already by Noon. 52* at 1pm. 53* at 2pm. Reached 54* near 3pm. There wasn’t any yet when I left for work on the uws at 445.
