Storm near Thanksgiving? Cold turkey

Today  was beast mode on leaves. That was the lions share. Took almost 5 straight hours of blowing .. beds , lawn , everything. Leaf seasons that last past Tgiving like this year absolutely blow.

Did the same, fought a bit of a breeze at time, just don't want to wake up tomorrow and find them all back, quite a few still hanging on the limbs.....

Nice. Doing mine next Sunday....should be all down by then, and no Pat's game.

The ones that don’t by then will in large part hold on until spring . I have a feeling it snows near or right Tgiving.. and that may end the leaf blowing. If it melts, I’ll have to get back out for one last cleanup. Those green vines in the backyard I have never seen that happen. Usually everything is dead and brown .

Yeah.. Was quite wet under the leaves, but as I blew them..they helped things dry out.

Without a doubt. And cleaning the vehicles probably 3-4 years

good skid steer! was looking at a new ariens for this season, mine is over 20, but drive spring is broke and getting at it is a bitch, and my dad's is even older and not zero turn so it's a workout using it... not totally opposed to shoveling tho, except when it's a dumpage! the cub cadet looks nice too, ain't looking to spend over a grand tho.

yeah, gonna stick with the ariens 8/24... they've done us good for over 2 decades with this one and previous one lasted since before and through 78...may be able to salvage mine just haven't had time to get into it yet

Yeah . It’s just how I’m programmed . I get everyone is different. There’s no way I could ever wait until all leaves are down to do it. Not only would I not be able to finish in one day due to the weight and volume of leaves, looking out at a mess of a lawn is not something I am capable of.  Same with the vehicles . I wash my company car almost as much as my truck . And if those are clean and I have the time. My wife’s and daughters car also get done

Nothing wrong with that, same here, thankfully I have a heated shop with floor drains, just how I roll too. Everyone has their own thing

One of my things is that I can't leave snow on the driveway.  Some people are ok with the lines of snow from the snow blower or car tracks.  It drives me crazy.  I have to clear it completely edge to edge, even it's going to be melted by the next day.  Probably explains why I'm on a weather forum too.

That must only be in NJ. That would never work up here in NNE.

I'm exactly the same way. Today was my third time doing the leaves. I'd rather keep up with it weekly then try to do it all in one Fell Swoop. There's no way that would work for me. Plus, I love the satisfying feeling of everything looking clean and kept once I'm done

Yea, that's a tough task at Jay Peak.  Most driveways around here are gravel too..a good cold winter and it may just be hard packed snow for months on the driveway.

RIPPED OFF OF ONE HOME WHILE SHUTTERS WERE RIPPED OFF OF ANOTHER.
SEVERAL TRAMPOLINES WERE LIFTED, WITH ONE BECOMING STUCK ON A 
POWERLINE APPROXIMATELY 20 FEET IN THE AIR. ON ROBINSON STREET, 
CROSSROAD RACE STREET, A METAL SHED WAS LIFTED AND FLIPPED BEFORE 
BEING CRUSHED BY A LARGE MAPLE BRANCH, WITH AN APPROXIMATE 
DIAMETER OF 15 INCHES. SEVERAL STREET SIGNS WERE ALSO SNAPPED AT 
THEIR BASE. THE TORNADO THEN CONTINUED ON A NORTHEAST TRACK INTO 
WESTERLY, RHODE ISLAND, WHERE IT CROSSED RI 78 ONTO CENTER STREET,
WHERE APPROXIMATELY 20 LARGE, HEALTHY HARDWOOD TREES WERE 
UPROOTED. A WOOD OUTBUILDING WAS ALSO FLIPPED ONTO ITS SIDE. THE 
TORNADO THEN CROSSED ONTO HILLVIEW DRIVE BEFORE LIFTING AT 
APPROXIMATELY 5:00 PM EST.

THE BASIS FOR THE EF-1 RATING WAS THE METAL SHED THAT WAS FLIPPED
PRIOR TO BEING CRUSHED, AS WELL AS THE SHEARING OF GUTTERS AND
SHUTTERS OFF OF HOMES. THE MAXIMUM ESTIMATED WIND ASSOCIATED WITH
THIS TORNADO WAS 90 MPH.

AT THE TOP. THE TORNADO THEN CROSSED OVER RI 102 ONTO HIMES 
STREET. IN ADDITION TO NUMEROUS DOWNED HARDWOOD TREES ON HIMES 
STREET, APPROXIMATELY 4-5 POWER POLES WERE SNAPPED IN HALF AND A 
FALLEN TREE CAUSED WINDOW AND ROOF DAMAGE TO A HOME. THE TORNADO 
THEN CONTINUED TO TRACK NORTHEAST TOWARD JUNIPER DRIVE WHERE LARGE
BRANCHES, DIAMETER APPROXIMATELY 15 INCHES, WERE DOWNED ACROSS 
THE NEIGHBORHOOD. SMALLER DOWNED BRANCHES WERE ALSO VISIBLE ALONG 
ROUTE 1 AS THE TORNADO MOVED NORTHEAST. AT APPROXIMATELY 5:24 PM 
EST THE TORNADO LIFTED OVER HOPEDALE AVE IN WICKFORD, RHODE 
ISLAND. 

THE BASIS FOR THE EF-0 RATING LIES IN SEVERAL UPROOTED OR SNAPPED
HARDWOOD TREES, AND MINOR SHEARING OF TREETOPS ON A FEW STANDING
TREES. NO MAJOR STRUCTURAL DAMAGE WAS OBSERVED ASIDE FROM THE
BUILDING ON HIMES STREET, WHICH WAS CAUSED BY A DOWNED TREE.

My driveway was snow covered last year from early January until the mid-March torch. By the end of Feb it was a super-dense glacier.

Yeah, Jersey Only.  Up there snow packed is cool, but I still like when it's plowed and shoveled with some kind of organization.

I got a great deal on a used one last year, two year old Toro, kicks azz, he even gave me a couple hundred bucks for my old one. Thing looks brand new.
