NNE Cold Season Thread 2021/2022

Ended up with 2.4" between the synoptic snow and the squalls that followed. Very pleased with this outcome! I hiked to Ripley Falls in Crawford Notch early this afternoon, and estimated at least 3.5" to 4" of snow there...and that was even prior to the squalls blasting through. Wintry appeal has been restored to the New Hampshire mountains.

Pretty excited to be spending more time in this thread. Found out on Friday I will be working in Lewiston/Augusta starting in July. My wife and I are pretty excited for more snow in winter and not living in a swamp come summer.

It appears the cutter for this week is not dampening out. Looks ugly on the Euro still. A little colder than the last one at least. Hopefully I will be more like upper 30s instead of 60...

I'm expecting the pack to be mostly gone by the time the Friday storm comes in.

Yeah that one is going to rain, looks like a half inch to inch total in some spots.

Friends skied SR this week. Said it was pretty sweet and SR  recovered extremely well from the rain.

They are good at cleaning up and grooming there for sure. They will get another chance to show off their skills after this next cutter.

March better rock or it'll be an early spring shutdown at most places.

There’s an ice dam under the bridge right by my house. A bit unsettling with more rain coming…

Yeah that can get out of hand in a hurry.  Hopefully it just goes downstream.

Here’s an ice jam in the Adirondacks on Feb 18 the other day…from 3 feet to 15 foot level very fast.

Was up hiking the Adirondacks today. Still 4-5 foot depths above 4K feet. About 20” or so at 2500 feet. Pretty solid winter conditions.
