Doug Miller (UNCA) and Baker Perry (App) have done some great work on NWFS. I definitely agree that I feel like we’ve seen a decrease in NWFS events in recent years. I remember in the 2000s it felt like I would see weekly winter weather advisories for the border counties. (Always made us foothill kids jealous during our snow droughts)

Steady rain here in Maggie with a temperature of 38 and slowly falling. I saw some flakes mixing in at the top of Omigosh at Cataloochee a bit ago on their Webcam.

Nice. Its slowly coming down.  Still have a nice snowpack but with it turning cold this stuff is going to setup like cement.

Some tiny flurries when I left just now, sitting at freezing. Nothing out in upper Crabtree besides the flurries, looks like Chambers Mtn and it’s ridge line along with Crabtree Bald was the stopping point, both have some fresh snow up top and Crabtree Bald is currently getting a snow shower it looks like along with back towards TN.
