Met1985
Also I wouldn't be surprised to see a few stray flakes tonight. And one thing is this front coming in will usher some very cold air into our neck of the woods

Tyler Penland
Trend has been generally sharper/digging trough on the American models last couple days. Would like to see the euro join in. Sent from my Pixel 5 using Tapatalk
Tacoma
I saw on the weather at 6, the latest GFS model has taken a big jog to the west that the Western Carolinas are to have to watch this if the jog west continues for bigger impacts of wintry weather. I don’t think people realize how close we are to having this fall into our lap. A couple more ticks in the track and setup, and we’re cruising into a major storm.

All you gotta do is loop the H5 maps and see how this is trending. Also, the surface is under done even on that NAM run.

Yeah unfortunately I just don't see it getting back this far. I certainly hope so but I'm very doubtful. We should do well with the NWFS anyways. And I doubt this winter is over just yet. Met1985
Yeah the high res NAM and the regular name looks good even down into the Asheville area. And this snow will be very high ratio stuff. I'd say something like 13:1 ratio with the super cold air flooding in.
Met1985
I think Wards map is the best depiction of what we can all see barring some surprise on the upside of things.

Catawba County is hung out to dry…. To be clear, I have no issue with its likely veracity. I just don’t like what it portends for Hickory.
