LiQuiDBuD
Big flakes and lots of them again. This backside is performing nicely. Why couldn't it snow like this while the sun was up? Dangit!Sent from my Pixel 6 Pro using Tapatalk

Met1985
This new snow is going to add up fast because of the water content.
WxKnurd
Backside has been here about 15-30 min, decent rate and dendrite size. It’s pure fluff too.
BhamParker
Snowing good again here as well. Does Transylvania ever setup well in NWFS setups? I’ve witnessed it in gatlinburg before, but figure we’d be too south here.
NavarreDon
Not familiar with the area yet, how does the Spruce Pine area in Mitchell County set up for Flow Snow? You’ll be pleased!.
BooneWX
6.5 inches of snow and still getting flurries/intermittent light snow here in Burke. What an awesome storm.

Met1985
That next batch of moisture and lift should be coming into the mountains between 6 and 8 tomorrow morning and should still with the border counties most of the day.
Met1985
Also I think the GFS and Euro did one hell of a job with this storm especially with the lead time. Those two models did excellent. The short range model did do ok with the warm nose coming through but we still saw some great totals through the whole viewing area. Also a big shout out to all the out of towners who came into our thread. I hope we were proper guests to all the new people and that yall will come back and visit. Yall definitely were a great addition to this storm. Also a big shout out to Ward. He stuck to his guns and he did great. For the complexity of this storm his verification scores were pretty dang on the money. We are lucky to have him.
calculus1
Good snowfall still coming down here in Black Mountain. We’re around 10 inches.
BhamParker
It’s been snowing real fine small flakes at a decent rate ever since it got dark. I’ll never forget the Christmas storm of 2010 just outside of gatlinburg. We went to bed with the same type of snow I’m seeing now and got 5+ inches over night. I know that won’t happen here, but man that was an unforgettable NWFS setup that night in sevier county.

We try to chase one event every year, but I keep up with you guys all winter season. I will always be back to this thread when we come up for a chase. Thankful I got to participate. Big shout out to Rainforest who was a wealth of knowledge for our trip up here since he also is in Lake Toxaway. The mountains are a special place and I’m thankful they are only a 4.5 hour drive from my house. Looking forward to seeing the sunrise over the snow and getting out of here once things are safe.

strongwxnc
The radar is firing up to my west! No doubt Met, the euro and gfs were rock solid. Plus just spent an hour outside with my 12 year old chilling in the snow! .
Sw NC weather
It’s been dumping fine flakes for most of the past 3 hours. Added a couple inches to what we had left from this morning. WxKnurd
Light snow still falling, took one final measurement for the night of 8” (I’m figuring we had about 9” total factoring In some compaction from the hour of sleet but I’ll confirm in the morning on a board I cleared off post sleet). We’ll see what tomorrow morning and throughout the day holds here with the NWFS.
BhamParker
It is lightly snowing here again. It hasn’t completely stopped at any point. The lake down below looks like it is turning white. looks like there is a layer of ice on top and the snow has stuck to it. Can’t wait for sunrise. The Alchemist
We finished out with 13.75 here in Saluda…. However, with forecast temp of only 35 tomorrow I don’t think I’m gonna be going anywhere even on TuesdaySent from my iPad using Tapatalk
mercurydime
I just measured 10" on my back deck table here in Pleasant Gardens. Considering some sleet compaction for a couple hours this afternoon, I'm gonna call it 11". Props to all the mountain folks and our visitors for a good ride on this one.
