You could also post things about fall in general but try to keep it to foliage. Thought it would be a good idea considering next week looks cooler and there is some slight colors on the trees already. Yeah just wanted to try and get an idea...(because every year by the time I think of it's the peak is already past, lol). Got to wonder if this is related to the cicada invasion, because the trees have really suffered flagging, (as it seems to be called), of twigs and dead leaves everywhere. It was not this bad 17 years ago, but I don't recall what the acorn situation was then anyway. Was wondering if anyone else has noticed the acorns. I’m cautiously optimistic this could be a good year for foliage based on what I see so far. That one holds leaves for a long time going from bright yellow to golden, and then dropping all at once. Also, as expected, there are some maples changing too, but again, not much. The warm/wet weather setting in right when we neared peak appears to be the perfect combination to stretch out the duration of the wonderful colors. Yeah, parking in town here is tough especially during busy times, so we diagonal park in places that were probably meant for parallel just to squeeze in as many as possible. WxUSAF Posted October 9, 2021 Share Posted October 9, 2021 Decent number of leaves coming down this morning with the breeze while I was out on my birdwatching walk. This warm/muggy interlude is probably going to sink our chances of a really great foliage season.
