It can get western Canada nice and cold, but it teleconnects to a -PNA and ridging over us usually. Hence storm track to our west. That was just a random op run and thus the weenie post for the ridiculously anomalous h5 heights it was depicting. A look like that would be a waste at that time anyway. Mid to late Dec maybe.
