CAPE
This would be a pretty nice look in a couple months. As it stands, this period might present the first chance for widespread frost with a hard freeze in the highlands if it comes to fruition.

midatlanticweather
See Digital Snow Thread for the ridiculous Snow Output in GFS Long Range! Maybe getting chilly, at least, in the long-range models!
SnowenOutThere
On a more serous note the GFS has been showing a good pattern that has a storm and some cold air. Over the past couple runs we have seen it produce some snow for us, while not likely at with it being 10 days out it is something to watch. It seems to be the first real thing to track this year but it is 10 days out.

I somewhat jokingly called it a threat window yesterday, but there is persistent model support to give us something trackable (by early season standards) for next week. Heck, you could call it two windows based on the 06z, which has a storm coming through on the 3rd and the 6th.
StormchaserChuck!
Kind of like to see the -NAO on 6zGFS ensembles at 384, +150dm-Nov11, wonder if it's just warm Canada lagging..

Nina's can be front loaded. Pac jet retraction combined with weaker early season PV together give some credence to the weeklies portrayal.
Cobalt
This seems pretty ambitious but a chance that the NW parts of our subforum will have their first freezes in the next week or two.
WxUSAF
Seems next week has a plausible chance for a first freeze for many outside the cities. Still lots TBD. GFS backed off today with the cold air push but euro and GGEM still show it.
