OhioWX
The original vortex appears to be reintensifying and might be trying to become dominate again. The "new" vortex is fizzling out.

Normandy
This thing is crawling to the coast at this point. Gonna need to make some progress inland since models are forecasting a stall and turn east
Prospero
I don't see any reliable webcams south of Galveston, but there are a few up there. https://www.pleasurepier.com/piercam.html https://www.galveston.com/webcams/babes-beach-videocam/ https://www.galveston.com/webcams/murdochsvideocam/ https://www.61stpier.com/piercam Surf is a kickin' a bit.

Ed, snow and hurricane fan
HRRR and 18Z 3 km NAM, Houston metro should miss heaviest rains, which seems consistent w/ radar.

Very possible this gets upgraded to a hurricane at 11. NeonPeon
This thing hasn't had the same center for an entire 24 hr period, it's just a washing machine with a brick in it. Fascinating to see, each time it relocates it's less and less far away as it becomes more and more symmetrical. Also, on radar, this thing is so so confined. It's a pretty dry, pretty small halfacane, thankfully.

Might give it time to become a hurricane, but all the heavy rains will be E of metro Houston. Been watching the radar. IMBY may not get much more rain. Windspeed
Clear evidence of a hurricane at the mouth of Matagorda Bay. Elevation 7m. Assuming they see this observation, they'll upgrade.Yeah it may be a "half'cane", but the northern band that is dragging the shoreline is brutal. Hopefully this gets punched hard by westerly 400-300 hPa flow to shear off that northern eyewall before it reaches the Galveston area.

Windspeed
We’re rooting for shear because we are scared of cat 1 halfacanes now? I don't like an eyeband dragging a metropolitan area, period. Nice boneheaded comment though.

Tezeta
I’m not here to fight. I am just here to advocate for landfalls with complete eyewalls and good chaser footage. Nobody needs harmed and I hope only rich people’s beach houses and fossil fuel infrastructure gets wiped out. 2 1

Windspeed
Center of the LLC keeps sliding parallel to coast, even if temporary. Fascinating how intense convective updrafts can bend and slip/jump the vortex down shear. But if the updraft within the eye band relaxes the slightest, it may succumb to upper horizontal flow and shear off, resulting in low-to-mid level steering flow regaining motion. Perhaps just enough motion to finally get the vortex inland.
Scott747
Meh so far. Maybe 35 sustained and 50 gusts at the casa. Took a dip down near the coast about an hour ago and it was about 40-45 sustained and 60 gusts. Probably getting a little rougher down there these last 30 minutes.
