Morning,

Rainfall since midnight: 2.81" (and currently heavy rain)

Rainfall for the event: 3.16"

Rainfall month to the moment: 14.04"

Wow, that is ALOT more than the 72 hour rain totals have.  I know they can be behind some times but they are over 2" behind now.

Rain should be closing up shop over the rest of the LSV in the next hour.  Harrisburg and west is mostly done now.  One line near Carlisle still has some oomph.

I worked an 18 hour day yesterday and crashed last night. I woke up about 30 minutes ago, looked out and saw it was wet. Checked my station expecting to see maybe a half inch or something along those lines...I was stunned when I saw that I was over 2.75" at the time.

Looks like I'll be able to eclipse the 3" mark for the day with what is left to fall. Do you see that area of rain over the eastern Chesapeake moving due north? That will miss me to my east, but man, the rates in that must be insane. That is a nasty looking train set up...

Yikes, long day.  You had to earn those 30 days off.  LOL.  I did see that down south of Aberdeen.   The radar is about as deep red as it can get before going pink.  Probably some fairly major street flooding down there.

and fwiw, that last line definately saved the forecast totals for the LSV.  True central looks to be the big winners tho.

I thought the forecasted totals ended up being pretty close.  I was a sceptic at first.  The call for the rain to intensify into the day, or however the wording was stated, was not good for the LSV but may be more appropriate for Northern areas of their forecast area.

Well it's just ending here now.  Impressive totals and in perfect alignment with the NWS forecasted amounts of 3-5".  I've had 3.28" since midnight along with 0.49" yesterday for a 2-day event total of 3.77".  That brings my September total to 9.09" and year-to-date total of 35.37".  I'm ready for the beautiful fall weather to make its appearance later today.

3.03" since midnight here - still raining, but intensity is lessening.

Looks to me like we'll end up with very similar totals.

I'm ready for some great fall weather as well!

Visible sat shows that nicely.   Give or take, 3” for both ob sites in Adams.

Yep, I got up near 3" with one last burst this AM.  The 2-3" calls were decent.  3-5" seems overblown though I guess technically if you got 3.1" it was right.  They were probably basing it on the rain intensifying into the day info last night.  Models were pretty clear the rain was gone from the LSV by mid morning.

Yeah, I guess the bust I saw was for yesterday evenings calls that didnt really verify.  From my limited view, overnight and this AM looked to be when the goods would come....and they sure did.

A W is a W, even if not totally to script.  Take it and run

did you see my klns precip summary from above?  I heard a few showers overnight, but when I left for work, it was just damp.  I did sleep like a rock tho, so maybe I missed some of it.

I sure did, and as I said earlier, I heard nothing at all. I was stunned when I looked at the station.

Speaking of which, I'm going to make a serious run at 4". I'm up to 3.61" for the event now. Still raining.

That's incredible.

Is my station malfunctioning?

There was a fairly large dry slot that ran up through the middle of the LSV.  I expect lots of under 2" totals there.   I would think LNS will go up at 10AM as will MDT.  Not sure they get to 3" though....Maybe LNS?

I really don't believe my station is wrong. I'm dumbfounded at the report from MDT though, which gave me pause. It is so dark here that I can't see to work without all of the lights on.

We are over 3" in Palmyra. Still raining.
