That tornado that dropped east of me was definitely getting ready overhead...heard the train noises and my ears were popping...

On that trajectory it's headed towards Staten island and Manhattan.

Lee Goldberg just said "We are in the middle of a historic unprecedented weather event".....2 minutes later he said "Now back to regular programming." LOL

Sorry for the banter, but we’ve gotten to the point where everything is on the table when it comes to the entire Metro area. Literally, anything can happen, weather-wise, here, given the time of year. It’s insane. This is dangerous.

I work at an insurance agency. We’re already preparing for a ton of claims calls tomorrow. Just hope the human toll in terms of injury and death is minimal.

Rain gauges in NW NJ anywhere from high 2s to over 5.

This needs to get out of here soon or parts of our state are going to be out of commission for weeks.

It’s definitely a good thing that:

A. It’ll largely be done by overnight

B. the next four or so days look to be high and dry, and very comfortable at that

JFK winds now SSE.  LGA ENE.  Funneling at LGA down LIS just insane.  41kts.  Low likely gonna track right over NYC.  GFS track may not be that bad after all but it’s QPF on southern side of metro will be too low

Historically speaking and regarding the severe weather aspect of this would you rank this higher than November 1989 and Labor Day 1998?  Those are the only two I could compare the level of tornadic activity we are seeing compared to this event.

I think they’ll be alright as it should go W but I’m not sure what the policy is if a warning comes.  You can’t get that many people underground

Also, the grounds flood. I've been there in heavy rain events. Sure it's just the Jewish Mother in me over worrying though.
