Certainly more of a northward turn at the moment on radar - this is pretty close to what's currently modeled on the high res models, which brings 110 mph + gusts to downtown New Orleans.

Normally the hallmark of a poleward turn. It's starting to feel the weakness in the ridge.

Wobble to the north now, evident on radar. While i'm usually not a fan of wobble PxP, it is important to remember that wobbles to the north could now signify the system is beginning its well advertised turn toward the north as well... Which clearly matters wrt impacts.

This storm will likely permanently alter the state map of SE Louisiana. Some of these marshes will now be part of the GOM

Doesn't look right. Pilots Station East, S.W. Pass, LA - Station ID: 8760922  is quite a ways NE of Ida's eye. And the official readings there look different, no sharp drop spike.  May be stations with similar names. Too bad the station ID number isn't shown there.

Really looks like it’s slowing down to possibly turn more northward. Maybe just a wobble but would have implications for New Orleans.

Looking at the sats it does not look like this station went through the eye. It is east of the eye. I saw the wind drop and direction change, but it was not in the eye.

Really do not like that the storm is choosing now to decide to start its turn more toward the north. Likely means that western portions of NOLA metro will be in the eastern eyewall... Which will cause substantial wind damage, and potentially impactful storm surge (unsure exactly how much surge since they are "inland" but most of that "land" is marsh... obviously there's the levee system too).

At this point it is splitting hairs and I know the NAM is not used for tropical systems. But the 12Z is east by about 5 to 8 miles as it approaches New Orleans.  It then turns north quicker so it is well east by the time it leaves Louisiana.  Not a good sign for the city.

50-60 mph winds spreading through the New Orleans metro area, which is the level where winds start to become quite damaging. Hurricane force winds down in Grand Isle. It's amazing the camera is still running there.

That Grand Isle station at the USCG station on the north end had been dead since 09:06AM cdt.

I don't know LA geography and trying to compare where Grand Isle is with relation to the eye.  If I'm correct, the eye will pass just west of there.  Am I looking at the right place between the webcam map and the satellite loop?

There's been all kinds of debris floating by for hours, thought I even saw a dog...  The beachhouse across the channel [or road] has been doing some wild contortions on it's pilings for a while. With the eye just about to touch GI, it may be gone soon.
