NeonPeon
Breaking damage report. My evening primrose has been toppled. I estimate a 18, maybe 19 mph gust. Incredible scenes. 9

dan11295
At least we had recon not too long before landfall. IIRC back decades ago NHC didnt even run recon on NE storms above a certain latitude. Between that and overestimating FL winds that mixed down storms were kept at much higher intensities in advisories then they were in reality. Gloria was only a Cat 1 at landfall (although I am sure many people have the idea in their head it was stronger).

Definitely raw sewerage mixed in.....it's mostly combined sewers there. Same with lots of Worcester. It's not just storm water when a manhole pops lol. eyewall
I honestly wish there was a more accurate wind field depiction for over land. NHC shows the TS winds onshore in southeastern New England but no ob on land supports anything close to sustained TS winds.

TauntonBlizzard2013
Just finished boarding up my windows. With the price of lumber, it was a small fortune. Can never be too safe though, especially with a dangerous and powerful hurricane, I mean tropical storm, like Henri.

It looks to me that since it's moving nw, we will get a piece of the core for a short time, and then be in drier air with some wind. I suppose I should define what I mean by "largely miss."
