Windspeed
Finally about to get the first real eye of the Atlantic seasonStill a good bit of ocean left to cross as well. Should be a pretty hurricane at landfall. Josh is at the forecast landfall to punch the core. Looks like Grace is going to be a sexxy beast afterall.

Chinook
by my estimation, this has made landfall at about 12:57AM Central Time. It must be a terrible, terrible night for some thousands of people on the coast at or near Tecolutla (near Poza Rica)
hlcater
That stretch (of mostly rural) Mexican coastline definitely got a surprise tonight. A rapidly intensifying high end cat 3 is no joke.
NorthHillsWx
Any word from Josh post-landfall? Last I saw from him he was driving through the eyewall of a rapidly intensifying borderline cat 4 on the coast at night. Hope all is well!

I don't like his decision to drive through the eye to get the landfall point perfectly. He needs to get too a well built structure with plenty of time to spare and stay put during these types of storms. Better to miss the eye by a few miles than be trapped in rising water on an empty stretch of road in a foreign country. They'll always be another storm. That being said he probably just lost power and internet. He's taken a few days to resurface in past storms.
