I’m in between Pensacola & Fort Walton Beach. Grayton & Seagrove are on 30A in Walton county. They are about halfway between me and the projected landfall area.

.

I don’t know how things lay down there so can you break it down Into miles and east or west?

thanks

At least I was in the ballpark on my wind call (60-65mph). Not sure how the hell I ended up so far off on pressure though (1005mb).

It is even possible for a high end TS to have that high of a pressure? 1013mb is sea level atmospheric.

He is working the storm for WeatherNation - his Twitter notes that was why he's chasing, haha

Weathernation is so low class. Surprised he’d hurt his brand like that. TWC must have run the numbers on his fan base and decided he wasn’t worth it, hence going to work for the hydrox cookie of weather.

What a fun day here (reading on my iPhone when I could today). Had to actually do work today. (Hate it when that has to happen, especially during a Gulf storm.)

So exciting! Almost a hurricane! Fred!!? Really??

72 mph gust at St George Island, so far the best I've seen from the "new" Fred.

He’s gone from TWC to roku tv. It’s quite the drop off. Maybe he should have stayed posting here instead of abandoning us.
Just to jump off topic here, briefly, Josh was never in a reporting capacity for TWC. They reached out to him while he was on his regular chase schedule for several hurricanes. The WN gig was their decision to contract him for work and he took it. Fred was not a normal chase. Additionally, Josh now lives on the Gulf coast during hurricane season for this very reason. He has a particularly great skill set that can be advantageous for any particular network coverage. That being said, if there is an intense hurricane landfall, he's going to be in chase mode, not coverage mode.

At any rate, no need to berate the man for getting paid.

I'd pay to have that job. Who needs food and bills paid anyway. ;)

Honestly considering the direction of the storm I expected much more squally bands with afternoon heating.

But the outer bands have been minimal down the FL peninsula today.

With such deep SW flow, ECSB is not there. Neither has the meso boundaries.

High clouds have prevailed

We had one band here in Pinellas County come through today after passing by for many hours offshore; maybe 15 or 20 minutes of sideways rain and winds around 20 mph, but nothing big except the visuals that creates like flooded parking lots and swaying palms that seemed to possibly be exaggerating a little..

Our temperatures around here have been less than the ocean the past two days, so it appears the band came over land and lost its fuel and faded out quickly.

Sounds like last 4 days of the sea breeze (and outflow boundaries from SB storms colliding) have triggered more active weather in SETX than Fred did on the Florida peninsula.

I'm up in Fort Rucker, AL visiting family (instead of home in Hillsborough County, FL) .  Two hours due north of Panama City, FL.  Winds are definitely a little gusty, sideways rain.  Lots of little debris down, hopefully my car outside will not have any issues.   Predicted to get the most rains 1-3am I think.  The hotel left lanterns in our room.

Yeah it looked threatening all day in Clearwater. Then went to a new upcoming job by the hard rock casino.

It held that look for the biggest part of the day. Around Lakeland ran through some sprinkles. Just enough to cut the wipers on.

But considering the orientation I was expecting something over the peninsula. At least with such deep SW flow.

I'm in an old 1940s or 1950s bungalow and the exterior pane of glass and screen came off my window and landed on the AC unit outside last night. That's the extent of my excitement from Fred.

That's not good. I guess it could have been worse, but still not good.

Apparently Fred did a number on Western, NC.

There are currently 30 people missing in Haywood County, North Carolina (west of Asheville) after flooding there.

Imo will end up substantially more costly than Elsa because of inland impacts like these.
