Yeah it was the atmospheric equivalent of being hot-boxed in a 2010 Ford Mustang over here…

Detroit had the 6th worst air pollution of all major world cities yesterday. AQI was around 180 at one point.

Based on the 925/850 mb
temps we should see highs in the mid 80s Saturday and upper 80s
for Sunday into Tuesday. There could even be a few values reaching
90. There are some indications that it will be even warmer for
the middle part of next week.

Similar to many of the above comments, GRR is thinking hot temps next week

Differential heating caused by the thicker smoke moving into northern Lower Michigan has helped focus thunderstorms over the cleaner air ahead of it. Had the smoke not been there, the lake breeze would likely have been the focus a little farther NW.
