Starting to not even look like much rain north of NYC-euro is dry and the HRRR has trended drier

The heavy rain threat looks to be the bigger threat for the NYC metro although isolated severe is possible. I think most of the severe weather may wind up being across S NJ, south of Monmouth/Mercer Counties. We'll see.

Yeah. We deal with stratiform rains with embedded storms up here. Though maybe some cells ahead of it can do something sneaky. Good luck down there

I agree. The system does seem to be intensifying a bit though but not thinking more than some stronger non-severe storms.

Exactly. That’s the mid level shear. regardless of the severe the whole area should see some solid rains

My brother in Allentown reported heavy rain but not much else, the meso passed a little to the north of him.

Meanwhile steady rain is falling here, and the low clouds overhead are heading west against the eastward motion of the storms.
