I’ve seen discussion in multiple threads, so here’s one for the storm. Should be a good widespread rain across a lot of the area. Tropical storm wind gusts working up the coast. Should be some gusty winds with whatever remains of the core as it moves through the Carolinas and into Virginia. Tomorrow afternoon could feature a tornado threat from the SC low country in NC coastal plain

HRRR bullish on winds. usually I take these maps with a grain of salt but with the high offshore packing the gradient and dry air working in around the S and SE side who knows...maybe some 40-50 mph gust are possible for 3-4 hrs tomorrow....

I agree, given the building pressure gradient and dry air on the backside, any elevated showers should easily be able to give some wind gusts around 40 from the Columbia-Triangle east areas. Obviously nothing major but could cause a few trees or branches to fall

Nothing unusual about this. We have had severe T storms worse than this. Some of the media really went overboard with the coverage.

We have gotten some good rains though here sitting at 1.57"

We had the bottom fall out during an earlier heavier return that sat over us. Sitting at 2.74” and still pouring

Edit: 15 minutes later and we’re now over 3 inches. Crazy rates right now

Last band just pushed through. 3.61” storm total for Elsa. Overall about what I was expecting, maybe a little more rain. Saw some decent gusts with one cell (probably 30-35 mph) and one tree down in my neighborhood off quail hollow took out the power lines. All sorts of line trucks there now. Mom is in Morehead city and said it’s probably blowing in gusts to 50 right now
