Sky looked wild here for a bit and we got some gusty winds.  But just a few raindrops was all that came afterwards.  Not even a clap of thunder!  Weird storm.

Gusted to around 40 mph here in SW Suffolk. Very heavy downpours with several close CG strikes.

I had just stopped video taping when a big cg hit about 1/8 mile away.

I would say top gust around my area was ~35 mph.

Im not sure how long its been since a thunderstorm caused this much wind damage. The flooding rains on friday def played a big role

For those into photography, now would be the time to get those ultra cool sky crawling lightning shots! These complexes ALWAYS have great photogenic lightning on the backside in the stratiform rain

Temperature went from 81 to 75 in about 4 minutes, from 6:58 to 7:02, interesting to see an near instantaneous drop in temperature like that

It was really strange how it skipped over us. It looked as if we were about to get pounded as the line dropped towards us, but it suddenly weakened just a few miles to our north. Just a moderate shower here. Then it strengthened back up just a few miles to our south. Central Middlesex county getting very heavy rain. That was horrendous luck that we had here. We did get some 40mph gusts with the gust front, but not even a tenth of an inch of rain. Annoying because I didn't water the vegetable garden because it looked very likely that we were gonna get plenty of rain. Hopefully we'll have better luck tomorrow.

That was one of the worst flying experiences of my life. Aborted our attempted landing at jfk at around 2000’, presently in AC awaiting fuel and 30 other planes to takeoff to go to jfk before us.

The back side of the storm is awesome to look at. Mammoth towers to my south and east. Sun is out here but getting rumbles of thunder.

Same in Manhattan. Pretty clear that the line was fluctuating considerably in intensity and passed through the central parts of NYC on a low ebb, hence the advance winds being more impressive than the main show.

Yeah I was just gonna mention that. It was disappointing that the heavy rain missed us earlier, but thankfully this small cell popped up over Hunterdon county and is now hitting us. It's pouring here now. Water for the garden afterall.
