I hesitate to say this given other conversations we’ve had in this thread, but my yard in Arizona had a lawn and a sprinkler system. (In my defense, it was that way when I bought the house, but I didn’t get rid of it and make a rock yard either.)

I had one in all of my Florida locations.  You could not grow the local grass, St Augustine, without one.   They have periods down there where it can go dry for weeks especially outside summer proper.  It is expensive as all get out to operate if you had a decent sized yard.  I had the zones set to go 3 times a week for 45 min each zone and it cost about $200/MO.  But good idea regardless.  Never met anyone up here that has one.

I feel like I’d be ashamed to have and use something like that nowadays amid the ongoing water crisis in the southwest. Florida, on the other hand, I’d have no shame.

My daughter's graduation party is Sunday so I'm rooting for dry weather. Probably 75 peeps coming . She's Temple bound and will be on the Gymnastics team there on a partial ride .

Congrats to her! Hope it’s dry for you, it will be hit/miss stuff I think so I bet it does stay dry for your party.

Thanks! Latest guidance has the frontal boundary sagging far enough south to be just isolated stuff Sunday so fingers crossed

Going by the book, after Saturday night some people may not see rain again until August per the GFS and Saturday night is not a guarantee.  Have to hope it is wrong for everyone's sake but congrats and hope Sunday works out for you.

Did not confirm its validity but I read this AM that yesterday was the first day there was no NBA, NHL, MLB or NFL Games being played since July 6, 1983!

I can think of plenty such days in 2020...

I edited the original post just as you were posting.  The article I read must have been trying to suggest something else now that I think of it.  As there had to be other gameless days.   Team USA's game was cancelled as well.

Would think we’re a few prominent covid tests away from the Olympics being cancelled, especially if they occur after athletes are already in Tokyo.
