CTP likes our rain chances later this week:

Tropical Storm Elsa and its remnants will be tracking
northward, likely contributing to moisture in our region. While
we will not see direct impacts from Elsa, moisture and upper-
level disturbances will likely contribute to higher QPF values
Thursday through Friday. GFS and Euro disagree slightly on how
quickly Elsa will track northward, but they do agree on keeping
Elsa out in the Atlantic.

By Thursday afternoon, the upper-level trough axis will be
situated over the Ohio Valley region, and the surface low just
to the east of the trough. With the influence of upper-level
forcing and Elsa approaching from the south contributing plenty
of moisture, widespread showers and thunderstorms are likely
Thursday through Friday. Temperatures Thursday and Friday will
be slightly cooler due to the cold frontal passage and ample
cloud cover/rain.

We made it to 87.  Was in Boiling Springs and they were at 89 on the car at 4PM.  Not a bad heat though.

No surprise that you were several degrees cooler - seems to be a reoccurring thing this summer.

Hit 89 for the high today, but it got quite humid.

Okay, surprised that you ended up 4 degrees cooler than me - we're usually within a degree or so of each other.

@paweather should go up there to provide us with live reports.

Pretty sure we can’t yet, they’re not vaccinated to a high enough percentage up there to feel comfortable letting Americans in. I heard July 21st but I wouldn’t be surprised if those goalposts move again.

I'm back in action.  We were out in the sticks of western PA for a few days so left the phone by the bedside.  Stopped at Ohiopyle on Friday and then stayed outside of Smithton for a couple days with some friends.  Actually had better weather out there than you guys had here back east.  Only had .1" in the gauge from the Fri - Sun period while we were gone, a bit disappointing.  Looks hot for a while, but it is July so I guess we can live with that.

We’re up in Warren County visiting the wife’s family this weekend (Route 6 corridor, @Mount Joy Snowmanwill appreciate that). Simply fantastic weather, a brief rain shower this morning and an absolutely beautiful afternoon.

Also CTP forecast area, so isn’t this technically my home thread right now?

Damn right I do!  Although I've only been in Warren once and that was while visiting the Allegheny National Forest.  Bet you guys had an amazing weekend up there.

It was fantastic. Great weather, great time spent outdoors, definitely enjoyed the 4th. Sounds like you did much of the same out on this side of the state.

Edit: oh, and lots of beer.
