GFS does have its generalized rain look over you almost non stop from Jun 26th at least through July 5th.   Another GFS 5" total panel for you.

GFS has been consistently advertising a tropical system somewhere in the gulf and the remnants seem to make it up here on some of the runs.

10 days straight of on and off rain is like a firehose (looks like a stalled front with a tap into the Gulf).    I see that system you mentioned landfall just a little east of New Orleans.

Yesterday it was a 946mb monster slamming into the Texas coast about halfway between Houston and Mexico.

Either way, New Orleans should be on alert.  Until the recent trend stops, they are always in the bullseye.

RE: my comment about D0 drought.  One look at this map dwarfs any dryness issues around here.  Nation altering (climate change or not).

If the NWS knows it is going to pull one they should pull it, IMO.  There are already storms in the non watched area.   They are FLYING as to West to East Speed.

Watch issued at 2:20.

70/20 wind probs.

We had the Choo Choo train sound and some damage here SO probable tornado at least partially down. Not sure straight line winds would make that sound.   My recycle bin is gone.  Trash can went into my neighbors house and damaged their siding.  Crazy.  No power
