Up to 90F at noon and I did see some young lantern flies. I tried stepping on them but those little suckers are fast! I bought one of those Bug-A-Salt guns at Lowes a couple of weeks ago. Shoots a pinch of regular table salt, accurate to around 3' or so. It was an impulse buy, but I totally used it on that nymph I saw yesterday. Thanks, just added it to the shopping list for my next trip to Lowes. Been diddy-boppin' between 93F-94F much of the afternoon. It will be interesting to see if these early storms set up some outflow boundaries for later today.

It was a couple of weeks ago, I don't think I've seen then since (might have been a one-off kinda thing--you can see them on the website but it shows unavailable at my location). However you can get them on Amazon for about the same price ($40 ish).

If it can nail lanternflies then it would be worth it! You might still get sideswiped by the connecting stuff between those split cells. Am watching some little blips trying to bubble up in central Delco and southern Montco to see if I can get something. Poor plants are frying. Sun has been in and out and am currently bopping between 94 and 95 (am at 95 at post time) with 76 dp.

CoolHandMike
Anybody getting wet yet? We've had maybe 2 drops. More storms are forming to the west and temps/DP's are still up there (though we've fallen to the upper 80's mercifully).

It'll be super helpful when they all become adults since you can get pretty close to them before they jump away. One of my coworkers got one after I told him about it and said he's been having fun turning flies into "walks". I about died laughing.
