Maybe I just have a bad memory (totally possible), but I seem to remember thinking a 70F dew point was high.  Now....I'm pretty sure the dew point almost lives above 70 in the summer.  And a 78F dew point doesn't even seem unusual.

We've had some nice cooldowns so far in between the hot spells, but we seem to be trending towards that pattern of a few days in the 90's with dps in the 70's, then a 2 day "cool down" with highs in the upper 80's with dps maybe in the upper 60's.

Hopefully it won't persist into September like it did in 2016. That year we were doing some dirt and seeding out back (in September), and trying to keep the soil damp with temps in the low 90s. I have a couple of meat thermometers I got for checking soil temps, and after running the sprinkler long enough to wet the ground up in one (sunny) area, I checked the dirt temp and it was 101F. So much for seed germination, lol. Needless to say I had to reseed it when things cooled off a bit.

Tomorrow night should be interesting at least.

Tomorrow night into Friday with Elsa then later Friday w/the cold/cool front moving through w/a decent chance of storms.

Tonight was super lame...why was a T-Storm Watch even issued?

FWIW...the 12Z NAM says Elsa is a non-event NW of Philly. I don't mind missing flooding rains, but I'd sure like the lawn to get watered. Still, a 30 mile jog this way or that will change things.

Tons of activity to our W moving NNE missing us for the time being...

The NAM and HRRR both show most of that staying north and west of here, and then the core of the storm consolidating and passing to the south and east of here. I'm hoping it doesn't pan out that way, a little tropical action would be nice.

Yep, we get shafted from both directions for the most part. Just hoping for a stray pop up at this point...

The stuff to the west is coming from the outer bands.  I would think as it moves NE, the main convective complex part of it that is moving ahead of the CoC would be pretty much on top of us, if not close unless the track really shifts east enough for it to clip the tip of south Jersey.  I'm just surprised that it is still a TS having moved over land this long.  The thing has been like a jalopy just flapping pieces of itself around as it moves.

It's currently 86 here with overcast from tropical-looking clouds and a dp of 76.  I did manage to make it to 90 just before 2pm today though.
