Southwestern Charles County with 3-4 inches in the past hour and still going. I wonder if that batch of rain will craw NE and hold together. Short range models hint at it. I doubt it though. 12z has the same jack area, but cut the totals by a couple inches.

Wherever that NW/SE line stalls, but the big time amount looks like it will be down along the Potomac.

osfan24
Looks like the heaviest rain is going to set up over parts of Northern Virginia that got crushed yesterday, and maybe even get into DC. Doesn't look like we will see any of that action up this way, but had some steady to heavy rain this morning, which is way more than I got yesterday. The nature of the airmass/weak steering flow the prior days was such that no global model was going to perfectly nail the locations that were deluged. It has actually been darn near spot on for my yard though.

WxUSAF
Today has a good chance at being my lowest solar production for a June day ever. Very anomalous to have such low thick stratus all day in summer.

IronTy
For crying out loud. What does it take to get a day with DFN like this and monsoon precip in January? It happens all the time in summer anymore.
osfan24
Looks like the NAM swung and missed with that really heavy rain drifting toward Nova and DC. Seems like it is instead focused on far Southern MD. Lots of patches of moderate rain in Central MD right now.
BlizzardNole
The stratiform rain saved us and we've managed a pretty good 0.7. We do OK in this kind of set-up, but cannot depend on thunderstorms. They almost always miss.
